Coastal Ultra Bangladesh (CUB) is an inspiring non-profit initiative that organizes ultra-marathons and endurance challenges across Bangladesh – from the coast to the capital – to promote eco-tourism, environmental awareness, sustainable development, community wellbeing, and the blue economy. By organizing events such as the Coastal Ultra along Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar and the Dhaka Stadium Run at the National Stadium in Dhaka, CUB aims to showcase the country’s natural beauty and heritage, raise environmental awareness, and brand Bangladesh globally as a destination for adventure and responsible tourism.
Beyond sports, CUB is deeply committed to charitable and social initiatives that empower underprivileged communities. Two notable charity partners of Coastal Ultra Bangladesh are Pawmang Primary School in Bandarban, which provides education and shelter to hill children, and Half Mad Human, a volunteer group supporting neglected and blind children, impoverished families, and the elderly. Through such initiatives, CUB combines sports, social welfare, and environmental awareness to build a more inclusive and sustainable Bangladesh.
From the open coastline of Marine Drive to the floodlights of the National Stadium – the races that carry runners, volunteers and communities across Bangladesh.
Following the remarkable success of the 2025 edition, Coastal Ultra returns to the world’s longest natural sea beach – the country’s signature endurance race along the coastline.
Bangladesh’s first-ever stadium ultra running event – the endurance spirit brought into the heart of the capital on a floodlit closed loop, open to first-timers and record chasers alike.
The edition that set the standard – three days on Marine Drive that grew the community, produced the first wave of finisher records, and put Bangladesh’s coastline on the ultra map.
MARINE DRIVE (INANI-TEKNAF-INANI), COX'S BAZAR
Marine Drive is an 80-kilometre road running along the edge of the Bay of Bengal, from Cox's Bazar down to Teknaf - which is the longest uninterrupted sea-beach road in the world. Hills rise on one side, and the open sea stretches out on the other until water and sky stop arguing about where one ends. which is the longest uninterrupted sea-beach road in the world. Hills rise on one side, and the open sea stretches out on the other until water and sky stop arguing about where one ends.
Running it means hours held between those two horizons, with the light shifting from a soft sunrise to hard midday glare, then into the long gold of late afternoon before everything turns dark blue. Fishing boats drift across the water. Palm shadows fall over the road in neat stripes. It is the kind of scenery that eventually stops the conversation - not from fatigue, but because the view says it better.
Coastal Ultra is less a race than two full days and two full nights spent in one of the most beautiful corridors in Bangladesh, shared with people finding out exactly what they are made of. You will forget your splits. You will not forget the road.
The beauty is real, and so is the challenge. The heat shows up early and does not leave, coming at you from the sky and bouncing back off the road and the water. The salt-heavy humidity stops sweat from cooling you, so you end up drenched and overheating at the same time. Then the sun drops and it turns cold, and the swing between a blazing afternoon and three in the morning catches out anyone who packed only for daytime.
